Evoplay publishes a 96% return to player for the original Penalty Shoot Out. That percentage measures the game's expected payout relative to the amount wagered across extensive play. It cannot tell a player what the next penalty kick will pay. A short record may show a loss, a gain or a return close to the published figure.
The game presents a series of football penalties. After a successful kick, the player can collect the displayed payment or risk it on another attempt. The decision affects the amount ultimately received. RTP describes the game's statistical return; it does not give advance notice of the goalkeeper's next save.
What 96% Measures
Return to player compares payouts with stakes across a large volume of wagering. A 96% RTP corresponds to a 4% house edge. Both percentages describe the mathematical model of the game. Neither tells an individual player how many kicks they will score.
For illustration, a set of bets totalling 100,000 credits would produce 96,000 credits in payouts if its observed return happened to equal 96%. An actual sample of that size could produce a different figure. Evoplay's public product listing supplies the published percentage, not a log of outcomes from a particular gaming session.
A Balance Record
Suppose a demo account shows 40 credits. The player stakes 5 credits, leaving 35 outside the active round. A collected payment of 9.60 raises the balance to 44.60. The profit from that bet is 4.60 credits because the payout also returns the original 5-credit stake.
On the next round, another 5-credit stake ends without a payment. The account drops to 39.60. The two wagers cost 10 credits in total. Only 9.60 came back, leaving a net loss of 0.40. The balance now sits below its opening value despite a successful first round.
This is a hypothetical account record using the original game's first-goal multiplier of 1.92x. It is not a record of a test conducted on this website.
Calculating Your Return
To calculate an observed session return, divide all completed payouts by all stakes placed. Multiply the quotient by 100. A player who stakes 250 credits and collects 180 records a return of 72%.
Another session could return 310 credits from 250 wagered, producing 124%. Both examples differ from the published RTP. The calculation tells the player what happened in that sample; it does not revise the underlying 96% game specification.
Payout Versus Profit
A displayed multiplier applies to the stake. With a 1.92x payment, a 2-credit bet returns 3.84 credits. The profit from that completed round is 1.84. At a 20-credit stake, the same multiplier produces a 38.40 payment and an 18.40 profit.
Confusing total payouts with profit distorts a session record. Record the full amount returned when calculating RTP. Subtract total stakes from total payouts when calculating the net result. The two measurements answer different questions.
Unknown Kick Probabilities
The official product card does not publish a probability for scoring any particular kick. A 96% RTP cannot be converted into the odds of five consecutive goals without additional information about the outcome model.
Team colours and the chosen shooting direction appear in the football animation. They do not provide reliable forecasts of the next result. Reviewing previous saves cannot establish the outcome of a future attempt.
Checking the Correct Release
Evoplay released the original Penalty Shoot-out in May 2020 as an instant game. Its published RTP is 96%. Other football-themed releases from the same developer have separate specifications. Read the title inside the embedded game before relying on a percentage found in a review.
The original Penalty Shoot Out game has its own introduction. The controls page covers the display of stakes and available actions. A separate cash out explanation deals with collecting a payment after a goal.
Evoplay's official product listing also reports a maximum win of €2,304 for the original release. That figure describes a product limit rather than the frequency of a top payout. Players using real money should check the applicable operator rules and remember that losses remain possible with any published RTP.
